Tuol Sleng, the Phnom Penh school the Khmer Rouge used as the S-21 prison and interrogation centre, and the killing field at Choeung Ek fifteen kilometres south of the city are preserved memorials to the estimated 1.7 to 2.2 million people who died between 1975 and 1979. The visits below are set out with their length, their price, and whether a licensed guide or an audio guide is included. Most take half a day. Dress modestly, note that photography is restricted inside parts of S-21, and allow quiet time afterwards.
